Why this one is different

Detroit Barber Co. is owned by ReviewsLift's founder. We're saying that first, plainly, because it's the whole reason the product exists — not a testimonial we went out and collected.

The honest origin story

Running a barbershop, asking for reviews is the job nobody remembers to do. Some weeks a barber asks every client; the next week, nobody asks anyone. Years of that produced a review count that didn't match the room — a shop full of regulars, and a Google listing that undersold it.

ReviewsLift was built to take that job off the floor: the request goes out after the visit, automatically, the same way every time. Detroit Barber Co. is the first account it ran on, and it's still where changes get tested before anyone else sees them.

Google's local ranking documentation lists review count and review score as part of prominence, one of three factors alongside relevance and distance — and in practice proximity and relevance do a great deal of the work. Reviews are the part a business can actually influence.
